Moderation is a key feature of any self-assessment practice across education. In some organisations, moderation results also depend on the moderator. 

Pre-assessment moderation: focuses on the validity of the assessment tool.
Post-moderation: supports the credibility of assessment by ensuring that assessment is valid, fair, consistent, sufficient, and grade judgements are verified.
